This team works closely with President and CEO Don Ghareeb and is responsible for setting the long term strategic direction for the company and establishing goals for the Annual Operating Plan.

Michael Border joined Tacala as Vice President of Operations in 2008 with more than 20 years of Taco Bell Corp. experience, most recently as a Region leader, responsible for over 500 Taco Bell restaurants in the Rocky-Desert region. In this capacity Michael was responsible for executing the Bold vision, driving operations excellence and developing talent across both company and franchise units. Michael served in a number of roles in his distinguished 20 year career with Taco Bell, including Franchise Business Coach and Director of Operations Excellence at the RSC, where he played an integral role in writing and developing the CER process.

John Figert joined Tacala in 1989, after having worked for Taco Bell Corp., and opened Tacala's first restaurant. John rose through a series of operations and development positions with the company, becoming VP Operations in 1998. John transitioned to VP Development so that Tacala could pursue more aggressive growth in its dominant markets.

Elizabeth Ghareeb joined Tacala in 1997 as primary liaison between Taco Bell Corp, A&E and Tacala Development. She was promoted to Director in 1998. Elizabeth served as a member of Taco Bell Chef’s Council in 1999 working with Taco Bell product development and key franchisees on food innovation. She also serves at Account Director for Freedom Advertising and is responsible for maximizing media investments and providing on-going sales and competitive analysis.

Tom Mathis joined Tacala in 1994 and has a diverse history in the restaurant industry. Tom has served in executive roles in operations, distribution, facilities and development over the course of his career. Currently, Tom is responsible for maintaining all facilities and equipment. He is also directly involved in all new restaurant construction, remodels, and other major restaurant upgrades for Tacala.

Tim Morrison joined Tacala as Chief Operations Officer in September of 2008. Tim has over 20 years experience with Taco Bell Operations, beginning in 1986 as a District Manager and developing into many strategic leadership roles such as Franchise Business Manager, Director of Business Development, CHAMPS and CER Brand Leader, Region Leader, Head Coach and ultimately as National Business Leader. Tim is no stranger to Tacala as he has supported the company as a Taco Bell Corp. representative since Tacala’s inception in 1989.

Marjorie is a ten-year Taco Bell Corp. veteran and joined Tacala in 2000. She had diverse experience with Taco Bell in a number of executive marketing positions in media services, program development, and field marketing. Since joining Tacala, Marjorie has been a driving force in Late Night sales growth and maximizing Tacala's local media buys through innovative scheduling, promotions, and added-value opportunities.

Joey Pierson was formerly a senior manager at Ernst & Young, one of the "Big Four" accounting firms. Joey was at Ernst & Young almost fifteen years working in both the assurance & advisory business services and the tax practices. He joined Tacala in 2001 and oversees Finance and Human Resources. Joey has been instrumental in process improvement and development financing with the company.

Kenneth Rourke joined Tacala in October of 2008 as Vice President of Operations. Kenneth came to Tacala with many years of experience in the restaurant industry and most recently served as Senior Vice-President for Franchising at Chili's. In this role, Kenneth was instrumental in creating a franchise vision, establishing standard operating procedures, defining a structure that would facilitate both support and growth and he helped mold an outstanding culture with the franchise community built on mutual respect and integrity. Prior to Chili’s, Kenneth was a Region leader with the Taco Bell Corporation for eleven years, serving company and franchise operators of over 500 stores in the Great Plains region.
