Each spring, we look forward to hosting our annual Tacala RGM (Restaurant General Manager) Conference. The conference is a great time for our RGMs to come together for professional development, networking and teambuilding, in addition to rewards and socializing.  

The Tacala Awards Banquet is held in the evening during the Conference and highlights achievements of RGMs throughout the year as well as revealing the recipient of the highly-coveted "RGM of the Year" award.

Personal Awards


Acorn Award
“Acorn that Could” recipients

Another important component of Tacala recognition is personal awards. This is a part of the YUM! and Taco Bell culture as well. Managers and Field Supervisors are encouraged to create personal awards to recognize employees' performance.

VP John Figert gives out the "Acorn that Could" award. An iron acorn is inscribed with "From a small acorn, a mighty oak grows" to acknowledge those leaders who have really grown in their profession to achieve success.

Marjorie Perlman, VP of Marketing, recognizes Late Night performance with the "Beacon in the Night" award. This award goes to the store and district which best demonstrated operations excellence resulting in strong Late Night sales growth.

Orlando

Each restaurant's performance is rated on the Balanced Scorecard, which measures how well the store is performing on such criteria as Customer, People, Sales and Profit. The Restaurant General Managers (RGM) with the highest scores at the end of the year (and their spouse or guest) are rewarded with an all inclusive trip in March. Past top performing trips have included Caribbean cruises or a jaunt to a resort in Mexico. Area Coaches with restaurants in this group and Tacala's top operations personnel also attend. This special trip is a wonderful opportunity for stellar performing RGMs to enjoy a much deserved vacation of rest and relaxation in a beautiful setting.

Bonuses

Tacala believes in rewarding superior achievement and offers performance incentives to store management and field supervisors based on Balanced Scorecard performance. Management employees can earn extra income for on or above target performance in each of the categories of Customer, People, Sales, and Profit. Additionally, bonus monies are paid to restaurants for exceptional health department and CHAMPS Excellence Review (CER) scores. CERs review every detail of restaurant operations and are conducted by Taco Bell Corp.

Restaurant Support Center

The Restaurant Support Center (RSC) is our team of support personnel and executives located in our headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. The 'RSC' is dedicated to high levels of service quality for our restaurant and field leaders and embraces the How We Work Together Principles. When it comes to supporting the field, the RSC aims to be true Customer Maniacs!
