Some community efforts are not proactive, they are reactive, but they are necessary. On April 27th 2011, lives of our friends, families, customers, and neighbors changed in a split second when devastating tornadoes swept through many communities where Tacala does business. Tacala has always believed that we are members of the communities where operate restaurants and we owe it to the communities to be a good corporate partner, especially in a time of crisis. To assist our communities in their rebuilding efforts, Tacala teamed with the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens and the American Red Cross for an in-store fundraising activity. From June 1 – July 18, 2011, Tacala Taco Bell locations, as well as Taco Bell Corp. locations in our area, collected donations to benefit the Red Cross. Tacala customers and employees contributed an incredible $225,000 toward the tornado relief efforts. Tacala and the Yum Brands Foundation matched the store donations with an additional $75,000 and presented a check to the American Red Cross for a total of $300,000 to benefit communities in Alabama, West Georgia and Tennessee.
