Graduate to Go

In 2010, the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens marked the launch of Graduate to Go, a national program supported by Taco Bell restaurants all over the country. During the first year of the program, TBFT distributed more than 250 grants totaling $1.8 million to local organizations, and hosted eleven Graduate to Go™ Camps for organizations committed to addressing America's high school dropout crisis. The Tacala team participated in one of the local business camps held in Birmingham, AL, August 3-4, 2010. The purpose of the camp was to engage 50 Boys & Girls Club teens throughout the area for a two-day competition, where they put together business plans and competed for micro loans to support their new business ideas following educational workshops from professionals within Tacala as well as Tacala’s business partners. The program was a rousing success; the teens were engaged in the process and energized by the competition.

Tacala was also pleased to have one of our Team Members selected to be a 2011 Regional Graduate to Go Ambassadors! Click here to meet Jessica Changco and learn more about her experience as an Ambassador.

“During the Tacala & Taco Bell Foundation for Teens Business Camp, I learned that no idea was unworthy.  Everyone should be able to express their creative ideas and learn how to take them to the next level.  I never thought about becoming a business owner until our camp experience.  Now I realize that I can do anything I set my mind to.”
