Talk of Tacala

NEW YEAR! NEW GOALS!

The new year is already off to a great start, and many of our teams and leaders have made new year’s resolutions and set big goals to achieve in 2023.

“My goal for 2022 was to come back to Tacala after a brief hiatus. Tacala is where I feel at home, and I’m proud have accomplished my goal in the first half of 2022!
My goals for 2023 are to build a great team that would move mountains for each other and to help each of my Restaurant Leaders build a great culture in each of their restaurants. Together we will attract the best talent, grow our teams, serve others, and make a positive impact on the lives of those inside and outside of our restaurants. My team and I plan to achieve these goals by working together, working hard, and working smart. Together we will all be successful in 2023!”
– Adam Keymon, Area Coach, Columbus, Georgia

“In 2023 I’m challenging my team to practice the Golden Rule (Treat others as you would like to be treated) daily and to always see the glass as half full opposed to being half empty. Throughout the new year my team and I want to continue to teach with tolerance and coach with compassion every day. 2023 is not about “ME”, but instead it’s about “WE”, and my team and I plan to achieve our goals with a “WE” mindset. My parents taught my siblings and I to practice the Good, Better, Best method in everything we do, and I’ve passed it along to my team. We never let it rest until the good is better and the better is the best. With this method, I’m certain my team will be the very best in 2023!
Personally, this year I am on mission to be a beacon of light and an advocate for anyone struggling with mental illness. It takes more energy to keep a person down than it does to lift them up, and I plan to continue lifting others up.”
– Teddy Batts, Restaurant Leader, Red Bank, Tennessee

“One of my goals for 2023 is to have every store in my market raise $5,000 or more for the Taco Bell Foundation through our round-up fundraiser. Over 50% of my stores raised $5,000 in 2022, but to help us reach 100% by the end of this year I plan to keep fundraising a focus in my market, encourage my leaders to share fundraising tips amongst each other, and remind my teams how much their fundraising will impact our local community by supporting organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs. 2023 will be the year of giving back for the Aviles Market!”
– Gubiel Aviles, Market Coach, Texas

“My team’s 2023 resolution is to focus on the customer and employee experiences. In the Payroll Department our customers are all of our Tacala employees, and our goal is to always provide excellent service. We plan to achieve this resolution by building relationships with our field teams, accepting constructive feedback, and taking action on opportunities for improvement.
In 2023 we also plan to prioritize our Payroll Team’s employee experience by focusing on work satisfaction, a healthy work/life balance, cross training, team communication, and opportunities for continuous growth. Our team is split between our Restaurant Support Centers in Austin, Texas and Birmingham, Alabama, so I plan to get the entire team together for in person meetings, team building activities, and camaraderie, so we can continue to grow together as a team and achieve our goals.”
– Frank DeLaRosa, Assistant Controller & Payroll Manager, Austin, Texas

“My goal for 2023 is to continue to train our new teams and set them up for success the same way others did for me earlier in my career. I think it’s important to pay it forward and encourage others to do the same. I also want to increase the number of Team Tacala and Live Más scholarship winners in the East Region by encouraging our teen team members to apply, reminding them of the application deadlines and requirements, helping them with any application questions, and providing a reference if needed.  I can’t wait to celebrate our 2023 scholarship winners!”
– Amanda Moore, Field Training Coach, Tacala East Region

“For 2023 I have challenged each of the Restaurant Leaders in my area to develop a high-performing team, who always gives 100%, puts our guests first, and prioritizes safety.
My goal is to have all 5-star stores in my area, and I plan to make 2023 a fun and winning year for my team.”
– Janice Crump, Area Coach, Birmingham, Alabama

Help us cheer on our teams and encourage them to reach their 2023 goals!
